About the event
Join People of La Junta for Preservation for a gathering centered on weaving with corn husks and sharing how corn is part of our origins as Indigenous people of La Junta.
As we work with our hands, we’ll reflect on the relationships between corn, our people, and the land that has sustained us for generations. These gatherings help us carry our cultural knowledge forward through practice, storytelling, and time together.
Come weave, learn, and share in community as we honor the connections between what we grow, what we create, and who we are.
